Here’s a comprehensive checklist to help you assess properties during a home tour:


Exterior Features


1. Curb Appeal

            • Condition of landscaping: lawn, trees, bushes, etc.
            • Driveway and walkways: cracks, stains, or damage.
            • Exterior paint or siding condition.
            • Roof: visible damage, missing shingles, or moss.
            • Gutters and downspouts: secure and free of debris.


            2. Structure and Foundation

            • Check for visible cracks in the foundation or exterior walls.
            • Look for sagging rooflines or uneven areas.
            • Inspect for water drainage issues around the property.


            3. Parking and Storage

            • Size and condition of the garage or carport.
            • Adequate street parking for guests.
            • Storage areas (sheds, exterior storage rooms).


            4. Neighborhood

            • General cleanliness and maintenance of nearby properties.
            • Noise levels (traffic, neighbors, etc.).
            • Proximity to schools, parks, shopping, and public transportation.


            Interior Features


            1. Entryway

            • Condition of the door: sturdy and secure.
            • Functionality of locks and doorbell.
            • Natural light and welcoming layout.


            2. Living Spaces

            • Flooring: scratches, stains, or uneven surfaces.
            • Walls and ceilings: cracks, discoloration, or signs of water damage.
            • Windows: functionality, drafts, or fog between panes.
            • Heating and cooling vents: placement and cleanliness.


            3. Kitchen

            • Cabinets and drawers: sturdy construction, no sticking.
            • Countertops: chips, stains, or other damage.
